What is WordPress?...well the official statement is...
WordPress is a free and open source blogging tool and a content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL.Features include a plugin architecture and a template system.
Have I lost you yet?
No...oh good. Right! put simply...
WordPress is one of the best platforms (think of a body's bones) to create either a blog or a website on, as it gives you the flexibility to update and change the site when and as you need. WordPress was used by more than 22.0% of the top 10 million websites as of August 2013 and is the most popular blogging system in use on the web at more than 60 million websites...so you are in good company.
Money is everything to a business, we know and have the scars to prove it. But it doesn't mean you have to compromise on having a quality website. One thing is vital though - a business without a window into cyberspace is like rabbit without a hole; no website equals no window for people to dive into and discover what you have to offer...so its kinda crucial, in today's ever-changing world.
WordPress is to me, (and in the words of Nicole Scherzinger), is 'amazeballs' as it gives you control to update your website whenever you need to without all of the expensive costs of a £60/hour graphic designer. Don't get me wrong, graphic designers are amazing, but can be very costly when you are a new or emerging business or when you just need a tweak here and there.
So what are Template Themes?
OK, so now we have the bones i.e. WordPress, we now need the skin, i.e. a template (to cover the bones).
Template designs are vast! There are literally thousands upon thousands, so we have carefully chosen some key ones within the packages which can be changed to your specific needs. However, if none suit don't worry we can source others that may reflect your business better. One thing we do insist on though is that every website has a responsive layout, by that we mean a website that can change to look its best on whichever device the viewer is using, such as a phone, tablet or a PC? You don't want to cheese your potential buyer off with a website that is too hard to navigate, it's just going to cost you business.
Some template designs use a system called Genesis which then allows their template themes to work, so this would incur a one-off charge of approx. £38 (correct at time of press). It's like an additional layer - the clothing on top of the skin.
Can you have an eCommerce website?
Yes, absolutely, we can create an eCommerce site using a large selection of template themes. Each eCommerce business needs to be looked at individually as there maybe specific details required, so we don't have any one cost package, we can chat about your needs and then come up with a great plan which will suit your business.
Don't worry if this is all sounding a bit scary.
We have the knowledge to do everything for you and we offer great support for any hand-holding required.
